ABOUT THE TACTICAL RESCUE CHALLENGE™

The Tactical Rescue Challenge™ (TRC) was established in 2018 to tighten the gap between tactical operations, medical intervention, and operational-level physical performance. Built for real-world application, TRC prepares small team elements to execute rapid, high-risk rescues when time is critical and additional resources are not readily available.

In the tactical environment, physical performance is not optional - it is a requirement to operate effectively.

Operators must be capable of moving in full kit, negotiating terrain and structures, evacuating casualties, and delivering life-saving care - while maintaining situational awareness and the ability to engage threats. Without the necessary strength, endurance, and resilience, technical skill alone is not enough.

A Competition Unlike Any Other
The Tactical Rescue Challenge™ brings together elite competitors from:
-
Military units, including Special Operations
-
Local, state, and federal law enforcement tactical teams
-
Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS) units integrated with operational teams
-
Hightly motivated and capable patrol or specialty officers
Teams - historically comprised of two, three, or four operators - are tested through high-intensity, scenario-driven events that require:
-
The ability to operate in full gear while moving, shooting, and solving problems under stress
-
Advanced firearms proficiency in dynamic environments
-
Application of TCCC & TECC-based medical care during active operations
-
Effective team integration during complex rescue scenarios
Every event is built to reflect real-world demands - where physical capability, decision-making, and execution must happen at the same time.

Where Capability is Proven
TRC is not just a competition - it is a one-of-a-kind training environment where physical performance, teamwork, weapons handling, tactical decision-making, and medical skills are tested together.

Participants will move in full kit, carry and evacuate casualties, negotiate obstacles, and solve problems while fatigued and under time pressure. There is no separation between fitness and function - your ability to perform physically directly impacts your ability to complete the mission.

As the opening event of the CT SWAT Challenge, TRC sets the standard for what real operational readiness looks like.

Built by Professionals
The Tactical Rescue Challenge™ is supported by industry leaders and executed by experienced professionals and dedicated volunteers. Every detail is designed to ensure:
-
Safety
-
Realism
-
Operational relevance
TRC brings together the military and first responder community to train, compete, and validate capability at the highest level.
