LAW ENFORCEMENT

TACTICAL HANDGUN DEPLOYMENT

This MCOLES approved training program is available to sworn law enforcement officers and military personnel.  This 1-3 day course is fully customizable to meet client needs and is designed for the uniformed officer.  Instructional goals are based on the safe manipulation of a semi-automatic handgun and improving shooting accuracy and speed in high stress environments. 

Teaching points include situational awareness, developing a combat mindset, effective decision making, weapon manipulation, recoil management, use of cover, one handed shooting techniques, injured shooter techniques, movement, and developing safe/effective combat handgun deployment techniques.

All students must be confident in the safe handling of firearms and basic handgun techniques as this is a high pace program.  Participants will conduct live fire drills in varying lighting conditions, as well as reality-based scenario training that is physically and mentally challenging.  

Required Equipment: 

  • Semi-automatic duty weapon, 10 round minimum capacity, minimum of four magazines 

  • Weapon mounted light if available 

  • 600 Rounds (minimum) of quality ammunition per day/student

  • Duty / Tactical belt with holster and a minimum of two magazine pouches

  • Clear ballistic wrap around eye protection 

  • Hearing protection – electronic preferred 

  • Tourniquet / I-FAK

  • Bullet resistant vest / plate carrier / tactical entry vest

  • Ball cap 

  • Pocket sized flashlight/fresh batteries 

  • Fatigue pants or slacks

  • Athletic footwear / boots

CRITICAL INCIDENT CASUALTY MANAGEMENT™

This MCOLES approved training program is based on the military’s combat proven Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) and the civilian translation of TCCC - Tactical Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) and is a must for all Law Enforcement officers and command staff.  The program provides training to enhance the likelihood of both survival and domination in the occurrence of violent encounters.  Participants will be provided methods on how to react if you, your partner or a teammate is injured.  The importance of developing a warrior mindset will be stressed and after completion of this program participants will better understand the risks of their profession and develop critical skills to help mitigate those risks.  

 

Participants will be instructed to recognize and treat the most common causes of potentially preventable death in the civilian tactical environment.  There will be an emphasis on self-aid and buddy-aid so officers can manage injuries to themselves and their partners.  The program prioritizes lifesaving medical care with tactical considerations to encourage officers to remain engaged, end the threat, and minimize further injury and loss of life. Emphasis will be placed on utilizing tourniquets, hemostatic agents, and other specialized equipment designed for the harsh environment’s officers encounter every day. 

 

In addition to critical medical skills, students will be instructed in armed suspect recognition and to how to more effectively identify cues to violent behaviors/imminent attacks.  Throughout the course there will be an emphasis on ambush awareness, prevention and countermeasures.  

This program is fully customizable.  Our basic Law Enforcement & First Responder course are four hours in length and can be customized with integration of firearms and other skills and scenario based training.  We can create a customized Train The Trainer program for your agency to make effective in house training a reality.

 

Our civilian Critical Incident Casualty Management™ programs  are customized to the age and need of the clients, we often conduct training for Boy Scout Troops and other youths.  

 

Host Requirements: Classroom, tables/chairs, multimedia projector with sound system, and screen.  Range requirements for enhanced course will be determined based on customized course.   All expendable medical equipment to be provided by STORM Training & Consulting, LLC.  

 
 

LAW ENFORCEMENT

CONCEALED HANDGUN DEPLOYMENT

This MCOLES approved training program is available to sworn law enforcement officers and military personnel who regularly carry a handgun off duty and/or work in plain clothes or in an undercover capacity.  This is a 1-2 day course and is customizable to meet client needs.  Instruction set will strengthen the ability to carry, accurately deploy and safely re-holster a semi-automatic handgun from/to concealment.  Emphasis is based on safety, equipment selection, concealment techniques and weapon presentation from different types of clothing and holsters. Teaching points include situational awareness, developing a combat mindset, effective decision making, weapon manipulation, improving shooting accuracy and speed, injured shooter considerations, efficient movement and developing safe/effective combat handgun deployment techniques while wearing plain clothes.  Plain clothes response to active killer situations and identifying yourself as a police officer will be covered as well.

 

All students must be confident in the safe handling of firearms and basic handgun techniques as this is a high pace program.  Participants will conduct live fire drills in varying lighting conditions from concealment, as well as reality-based scenario training that is physically and mentally challenging.  

 

Inside the waistband holsters must have a non-collapsible opening.  Blackhawk SERPA holsters and similar trigger finger actuated holsters are strongly discouraged.  

 

Required Equipment: 

  • Semi-automatic duty weapon, 10 round minimum capacity, minimum of 4 magazines

  • 600 Rounds (minimum) of quality ammunition per day/student

  • Inside/outside waistband holster with hold open feature (suitable for concealment)

  • Concealable magazine carrier with hold open feature (Kydex type preferred)

  • Sturdy pants belt

  • Clear ballistic wrap around eye protection 

  • Hearing protection – electronic preferred

  • Concealable bullet resistant vest if desired / required

OPERATIONAL MEDICINE -

PROTECTIVE SERVICES DETAIL

This MCOLES approved training program is designed to prepare the close protection specialist to deal with medical and traumatic emergencies while protecting their clients.  Whether you are protecting high level government assets, dignitaries, high profile detainee’s, V.I.P.’s, executives, or managing corporate security, this program is designed to enhance your medical response capabilities, resulting in optimal outcome of your protectee and team.  Designed as an essentials program to meet your specific needs, there will be an assessment of your team’s medical response capabilities prior to training, then a minimum of one intense day of training containing over eight hours of instruction and practical exercises.  After the essentials program is completed, further recommendations will be provided.  STORM also offers an enhanced program that consists of additional hours of training that is highly customized to meet specific client needs.  Advanced training may consist of continued reality-based practical exercises, tissue labs, force-on-force scenarios, stress inoculation, live fire drills, and more. 

 

The essentials training program includes:

The program consists of two days of intense firearms training and is designed for the uniformed and plain clothes officer. This training combines our Handgun Deployment & Concealed Handgun Deployment courses to provide an enhanced training experience. Instruction set will strengthen the ability to carry, accurately deploy and safely re-holster a semi-automatic handgun from/to concealment as well as duty holsters. Emphasis is based on safety, equipment selection, concealment techniques and weapon presentation from different types of clothing and holsters. Teaching points include situational awareness, developing a combat mindset, effective decision making, weapon manipulation, improving shooting accuracy and speed, recoil management, one hand shooting techniques, injured shooter considerations, efficient movement and developing safe/effective combat handgun deployment techniques while in uniform or plain clothes. Also covered is the plain clothes response to active killer situations and identifying yourself as a police officer. Day one will focus on the use of duty/tactical belts and day two will be primarily committed to concealed carry work.

 

All students must be confident in the safe handling of firearms and basic handgun techniques as this is a high pace program. Participants will conduct live fire drills in varying lighting conditions, as well as reality-based scenario training that is physically and mentally challenging. LAW ENFORCEMENT

CARBINE OPERATOR TRAINING

This MCOLES approved training program is available to sworn law enforcement officers and military personnel only.  The training days will consist of non-static live fire, developed for the student who possesses basic knowledge of the M4/AR-15 platform.  Students must be proficient in the safe handling of rifles/handguns due to the fast pace of the program.

Students are expected to arrive at the training site with a pre-zeroed rifle, time for zeroing will not be available. Non magnified red-dot optics are HIGHLY recommended.

Instruction set will strengthen the ability to efficiently deploy and operate the carbine.  Fundamentals of shooting and body mechanics will be discussed as well as tactics, techniques and procedures to increase accuracy and speed. Emphasis will be placed on saved mag/tactical and combat reloads, malfunction clearing, use of cover, ambidextrous deployment and weapon transitions. Weapon and gear set-up will be discussed to optimize efficiency.

 

Required Equipment:

  • M4/AR-15 carbine with a red dot sight and sling (2-point sling preferred)

  • Semi-automatic duty/tactical handgun

  • 600 rounds of quality carbine ammunition per day of training

  • 150 rounds of quality handgun ammunition per day of training

  • 5 carbine magazines (minimum)

  • 3 handgun magazines

  • Duty / tactical belt with holster, carbine magazine pouch and two handgun magazine pouches

FIRST AID, CPR, AED &

STOP THE BLEED TRAINING COURSES

STORM Training & Consulting, LLC offers a training program that includes instruction in basic First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED's).  

 

Heart attacks are the third leading causing of death for on-duty police officers.  The number of officers that succumb to heart attacks is even greater as job stresses carry over when we are off duty.  Prepare to help saves lives of co-workers as well as the many victims we encounter within  our daily duties.  Help prepare your family with lifesaving skills that are paramount in our daily lives.  

Our basic First Aid, CPR, AED and Stop The Bleed Courses are often attached to our corporate security and executive/close protection programs, they are also available for schools, places of worship, youth groups and more.

OPERATIONAL CANINE TRAINING

STORM Training & Consulting had partnered with some of the best in the industry for special operations canine training and canine medicine.  

 

Joey Millbocker, owner of Marauder Canine has over ten years of direct action United States Military Special Operations experience.  He has trained and operated around the world with military working dogs and has trained military and police units throughout the United States.  His experience and ability to train dogs and their handlers is second to none.  There is a link to Marauder Canine on our fiends page.  Contact him to bring your canine teams to a level never imagined.  

Lee Palmer; DVM, MS, DACVECC, NRP, EMT-T, WEMT, CCRP, TP-C (LTC, 20SFG, ALARNG) is a United States Military Veterinarian and Paramedic with extensive experience treating military working dogs and law enforcement canine's.  Lee is the the lead of the Canine Tactical Emergency Casualty Care Working Group.  His ability to teach handler skills to save their canines lives is second to none.

STORM Training  & Consulting had the ability to provide canine  medical support course and canine seminars while working with our partners.  We are currently developing a firearms program specific to canine handlers duties to better prepare them for the harsh environments they operate.  Future programs include a multi faceted canine seminar to include; canine medicine (TECC), firearms techniques and multiple canine techniques to include drive promotion, capping, assaulter neutralization, apprehension and more.  

 

PRIVATE / INDIVIDUAL FIREARMS TRAINING

STORM Training & Consulting, LLC will conduct private lessons upon request.  We specialize in handgun and rifle problem solving and instruction for Law Enforcement agencies.  We can set an officer up for success who needs special attention on a certain skills, qualification courses or who is returning from a hiatus or injury.  We have guided multiple officers and federal agents in firearms skills to help prepare them for success to join special operations teams within their agencies.  

As Law Enforcement and Public Safety training is our priority, on a limited basis we will provide private instruction to the qualified civilian.  All civilians must possess a valid concealed carry license for the state they reside.  Instruction is scheduled on an hourly basis and an assessment and plan will be provided.

Our private courses for Law Enforcement are typically conducted at the range facilities that the agencies use for their firearms training and qualification courses.  We have other range options available as well.

This intense, MCOLES approved, one day training program is designed to increase the law enforcement officers speed, accuracy, safety and confidence with your handgun and integrate lifesaving medical skills into your training.  This program will be physically intensive and designed to increase your preparation to win deadly force encounters.  This course will be completed utilizing duty or tactical gear (not concealed).
