The Tactical Rescue Challenge® returns for its 8th year, bringing together law enforcement officers, military personnel, and military special operations operators from across the nation for one of the most demanding and realistic competitions in the country.

The 2026 event will feature significant updates designed to challenge even the most seasoned operators. Teams will face a series of high-intensity physical, tactical, medical, rescue, and problem-solving events that demand exceptional fitness, sound decision-making, and seamless teamwork under pressure. Every challenge is designed to replicate the stress, complexity, and unpredictability of real-world operations.

Participants will be tested through demanding events that challenge physical fitness, tactical proficiency, casualty care, water operations, marksmanship, leadership, and teamwork. Whether your background is law enforcement, military operations, or special operations, this event will push your limits while providing a unique opportunity to compete alongside some of the nation's finest warriors.

Limited to 30 two-person teams, the Tactical Rescue Challenge® delivers a competitive and professional environment while maintaining the high standards participants have come to expect. The competition will take place across three premier training venues located just minutes from the host hotel, allowing teams to focus on the mission rather than logistics.

Competitors will receive a continental breakfast and lunch, and the day will conclude with a cocktail hour, dinner, and awards ceremony during the Connecticut SWAT Challenge Meet & Greet.

Why Compete?

  • Test your fitness, tactical, medical, rescue, and problem-solving skills under pressure.

  • Compete against elite law enforcement and military teams from across the nation.

  • Experience realistic, high-tempo scenarios designed to challenge every aspect of your performance.

  • Get hands-on access to cutting-edge equipment and technology from industry-leading sponsors and vendors.

  • Explore the latest advancements in tactical equipment, medical gear, firearms accessories, communications, rescue equipment, fitness, recovery, and performance products.

  • Earn the opportunity to stand among the best and claim the title of Tactical Rescue Challenge® Champion.

Expectations & Water Operations

The Tactical Rescue Challenge® is a highly competitive event that tests fitness, tactics, medicine, marksmanship, problem-solving, teamwork, and heart. Competitors should expect physically demanding evolutions, realistic scenarios, live-fire events, and force-on-force exercises designed to push individuals and teams outside their comfort zones.

One of the biggest additions to the 2026 Tactical Rescue Challenge® is our enhanced water operations event. Competitors will be challenged with surface swimming, an underwater rescue, casualty extraction, and lifesaving medical care under stress. While this event has created some anxiety for a few competitors, it is designed to be challenging, realistic, and achievable. No advanced swimming or dive experience is required, but competitors should arrive prepared to work hard, stay calm, and perform under pressure.

All competitors should expect to shoot, although limited exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis for designated shooter/medic team configurations.

This competition is not limited to special operations units or tactical teams. Any law enforcement personnel who may be called upon to respond to and stop an active threat are eligible and encouraged to compete.

STORM Training & Consulting + JagerWerks Push-Up Competition

Returning for its fourth consecutive year, the STORM Training & Consulting + JagerWerks Push-Up Competition is open exclusively to TRC® competitors. This voluntary event has become a TRC® tradition, offering competitors another opportunity to test their grit, determination, and physical fitness. The competition is tough, the bragging rights are real, and the prizes are second to none.
